This Face Mask Is Like a Bouquet for Your Skin
Here’s What You Need:
- 1.5 tbsp. rose petal powder
- 2 tbsp. kaolin clay
- 6 tbsp. rose water
- 1 dropper full of your favorite oil
- Mixing bowl and spoon
Step One: Combine the Powders
Place your rose petal powder and kaolin clay in a small mixing bowl and combine until you have one solid hue. Every product is different, so the color will range from light to dark pink. We’re using products from Merlion Naturals and Kaolin KR, both available online. Kaolin clay is a very gentle, mineral-rich clay that zaps excess oil and helps decongest skin. Rose petal powder soothes and gently exfoliates skin to promote healing of impurities.
Step Two: Add Rose Water
Add your rose water to the powder and stir well. This may take a few minutes since the powder is a little resistant to combining, so be patient. We’re using this organic option from InstaNatural, which is also available online. Rose water helps restore the skin’s pH balance and has astringent properties to further ward off and treat impurities. If you’re seeking an alternative, try distilled water or witch hazel.
Step Three: Throw in Some Oil
To help further nourish your skin, we recommend adding one or two droppers full of your favorite oil. Mix well. We’re using camellia, but some other options include rosehip, argan, jojoba, or sunflower. We don’t recommend using olive oil or coconut oil since they can sit a little heavy on the skin.
Step Four: Enjoy and Store
You can apply to your skin right away, placing any excess into a sealed container. Alternatively, make a batch ahead of time and then use as needed. As long as the container is tightly sealed it should last for at least two to three weeks.
Application advice: After cleansing skin, use a brush to apply an even layer of the rose petal powder mask to your face. Let it set for 10 to 15 minutes so the ingredients can do your work. It will harden slightly, but not to an uncomfortable level as long as you’ve included the oil. Finally, gently remove the mask with warm water and, if necessary, follow up with a face wipe to remove any residue.
