A blend of warm milk, spices and honey, saves for the calming drink have increased by a whopping 700% since last year. But the idea of drinking warm milk before bed isn’t exactly groundbreaking (um, our moms have been telling us to do this since we were kids). What is new, however, is the introduction of super trendy adaptogens. (And also how crazy beautiful these soothing sleep aids are.)
“Adaptogens are basically a group of plants that you take over a long period of time in order to help your body adapt to stress and other ailments,” nutritionist Chelsea Williams tells us.
To make your own moon milk, simply warm up a cup of milk, add your sweetener of choice and an adaptogen powder. Ashwagandha is especially good for stress while maca can help balance hormones and has a yummy butterscotch taste.
Sip before bedtime and that’s it—you should be snoozing peacefully in no time. (And even if it doesn’t work, at least it will look great on the ’Gram.)
