Preparation Time: 5 – 10 minutes
1 frozen banana, peeled
1 cup of (vegan) yoghurt
1 large Pink Lady® apple, washed and cut up into chunks, core and stem removed
0.5 cups (glutenfree) oats
2 tbs chia or flax seeds
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla powder or extract
1 cup of plant-based milk (almond or rice milk work well)
2 tsp beetroot powder or freeze dried rasperberry powder (optional)
a drizzle of maple syrup
Pink Lady® apple slices
nuts or seeds
Place all the smoothie ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately and add the toppings of your choice. Enjoy!
Tip 1: You can also used fresh banana if you don’t have a frozen one to hand
Tip 2: If you consume dairy you can use a regular Greek yoghurt instead of a soya or coconut based vegan yoghurt.
Tip 3: I am aware that those of you with gluten sensitivity are sometimes also sensitive to glutenfree oats. Perhaps use millet flakes instead.
Tip 4: The beetroot/raspberry powder do not add any real flavour BUT they do add colour, making this a really fun smoothie to enjoy. You can also try acai powder or wheatgrass powder if you’re looking to experiment with different colours, ahh I mean superfoods ;).
